Mikko Laaninen

Mikko Laaninen is an experienced RF engineer with a diverse background in hardware development and design, specializing in radar and wireless communication technologies. Currently serving as an RF Engineer at ICEYE since November 2015, Laaninen leads the radio team and holds responsibilities as a system architect for space-based Synthetic Aperture Radar systems. Previous roles include a specialist at Microsoft, focusing on hardware architecture for wearable products, and extensive experience at Nokia, where Laaninen contributed to RF and antenna design across various applications, including Bluetooth headsets and 3G USB modems. Additional experience encompasses senior design engineering at Embio Oy and Elektrobit, and engagement in academic research at Helsinki University of Technology. Laaninen holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Radio Engineering from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan.
