ICFO
Carlos Gas Ferrer is currently a PhD student at ICFO in the Ultracold Quantum Gases group, holding a Severo Ochoa Fellowship and focusing on quantum simulation with a quantum gas microscope of ultracold strontium. Prior to this role, Carlos completed a Master's degree in Photonics at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and served as a Master's student at ICFO, where work involved laser cooling and characterization of a strontium atomic source. Additionally, Carlos gained research experience during an internship at the QAOS group at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, concentrating on the theoretical derivation and characterization of superconducting circuit qubits and numerical computation of energy band structures. Education credentials include Bachelor's degrees in Mathematics and Physics from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
