Richard van Ewijk

Vice President Global Quality, IMP QP & HSE at Ichnos Sciences

Richard Van Ewijk has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Richard currently holds the role of Vice President Global Quality, IMP QP & HSE at Ichnos Sciences, where they are responsible for quality unit business alignment and strategy for GMP and GCP. Earlier in their career, Richard worked at DSM Biologics as a Manager Quality Control (Projects) and Scientist Quality Control. Their responsibilities included the development, implementation, and validation of analytical methods for biopharmaceutical products. Richard also supported customers in bringing products from Phase I to commercial under cGMP guidelines.

Richard's career also includes a role as a DNAChip Specialist at Packard Bioscience Company, where they were involved in DNAChip development and technology transfer.

Before entering the industry, Richard worked as a Researcher at the University RuG in the Netherlands, focusing on fundamental research in signal transduction cascades in leukemia cells.

Overall, Richard Van Ewijk has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with expertise in quality control, regulation compliance, and clinical trials.

Richard Van Ewijk has a diverse education history. In 1980, they completed their schooling at Panaga School Brunei and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in BioTechnology from Hanzehogeschool Groningen / Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen in 1994. Continuing their education, Richard obtained a Master of Science degree in Molecular Biology and BioTechnology from the University of Groningen in 1998. More recently, they pursued aviation studies at Horizon Swiss Flight Academy from 2017 to 2020. In addition to their formal education, Richard has obtained several certifications, including certifications in project management, leadership, and operational management, as well as training in analytical methods validation and chromatography.
