Svetlana Kononenko has a diverse range of work experience. Svetlana started as a Summer Research Intern at Beijing Normal University in 2019, where they worked in the School of Social Development and Public Policy. In 2018, they held multiple roles at St. Lawrence University, including General Biology Teaching Assistant, Diversity and Inclusion Intern, Teaching Assistant for the Foreign Languages Department, and Community Mentor for Community-Based Learning. Svetlana also served as an Admissions Ambassador during this time. From 2020 to 2021, Svetlana worked as a Research Assistant at Karolinska Institutet, focusing on Early Brain Development in Autism Spectrum Disorder. In 2021, they joined the Trudeau Institute as a Research Technician. Svetlana'smost recent position is as a Junior Research Associate at Ichor Life Sciences, Inc., starting in 2022. Additionally, in 2021, they had a research fellowship at St. Lawrence University where they designed and conducted a research experiment assessing the efficacy of CeO2 nanoparticles against chemically-induced oxidative stress using transgenic C. elegans.
Svetlana Kononenko completed their International Baccalaureate Diploma from UWC South East Asia from 2015 to 2017. Svetlana'sfield of study included HL Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology, as well as SL Russian Literature, English L&L, and Maths. Svetlana also completed a Biology Extended Essay, achieving a score of 40 out of 45. From 2017 to 2021, Svetlana attended St. Lawrence University, where they earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology and Neuroscience.
