Besa Smith, MPH, PhD, is a Senior Director and Global Lead for the Biostatistics and Medical Writing team in Real World Evidence at ICON Commercialisation & Outcomes. Currently, Besa teaches epidemiology and biostatistics as an Associate Adjunct Professor at UC San Diego and serves as an Adjunct Professor at National University. As the founder of the consulting firm Analydata, Besa has nearly 20 years of experience in health analytics, contributing to almost 80 peer-reviewed publications and over 100 scientific presentations. Previously, Besa held roles as a Senior Epidemiologist/Biostatistician at the Naval Health Research Center and has advanced her education with a PhD in Epidemiology from UC San Diego.
