Caroline MacKell has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Caroline began their career as a Grade A Clinical Scientist at Addenbrookes NHS Trust in 1999 and worked there until 2003. Afterwards, they joined ICON Central Laboratories, where they held various roles including Section Head, Haematology, Manager of General Laboratory, and Associate Director of General Laboratory and Client Services in Europe. In 2011, Caroline acted as the Managing Director for Europe and Singapore before becoming the Global Director of Client Services Operations. In 2015, they moved to ICON plc, where they worked as the Vice President of Client Services and eventually became the Senior Director of Scientific Affairs in 2018.
Caroline MacKell obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Biomedical Science, specializing in Haematology, from Ulster University between 1995 and 1999. Later, they pursued a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Haematology at De Montfort University from 2001 until 2005. Caroline continued their education by completing an Executive MBA with First Class Honours (1:1) at UCD Smurfit School of Business from 2011 to 2013.
