Rakan Bitar, MD, is the Senior Director of Pharmacovigilance and Patient Safety at ICON plc, where they oversee drug safety units globally. With over a decade of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Rakan has a strong focus on patient safety, risk management, and digital innovation in clinical development. Previously, Rakan has held significant roles at PPD, Bayer, and PRA Health Sciences, where they managed large safety programs and led initiatives in process digitalization. Rakan earned their medical degree from Medicinski universitet - Sofia in 2006.
