Ian Kemp is a researcher and PhD student at the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research, focusing on the application of supercomputing to radio astronomy. Previous roles include a research associate specializing in solar system modeling and data processing for large radio telescopes, as well as various engineering and management positions at Chevron, where Ian led significant process improvement initiatives and developed subsurface data management strategies. Ian has also contributed to the West Australian Symphony Orchestra as a front-of-house volunteer and has experience in information management and web development across multiple organizations, including BHP Billiton and the Ministry for the Environment. Ian holds advanced degrees in astronomy and metallurgy from institutions including Swinburne University of Technology and the University of Leeds, with ongoing doctoral studies at Curtin University.
