Els Debuf

Els Debuf is an experienced legal advisor and humanitarian professional with a rich background in international law and policy. They have held significant roles, including Head of Project at the International Committee of the Red Cross, where they led initiatives on Customary International Humanitarian Law, and Head of Humanitarian Affairs at the International Peace Institute. With a strong commitment to humanity and social justice, Els has worked in diverse contexts, negotiating access and security for humanitarian work in regions affected by conflict. They hold multiple advanced degrees in law and international relations, including a Ph.D. from the Graduate Institute for International Studies.
