ICRI works with Indigenous peoples and local communities to document, govern, and benefit from their traditional knowledge through systems that respect their rights, reflect their priorities, and endure across generations.

The knowledge held by communities has long contributed to scientific discovery, conservation, and sustainable development. International frameworks increasingly recognise the rights of knowledge-holding communities to meaningful participation in governance and in the equitable sharing of benefits arising from the use of that knowledge. ICRI is building systems that record what communities hold, establish the rights that apply, and ensure those rights travel with that knowledge wherever it goes.
