Payal Malik

Payal Malik is a distinguished academic and public policy economist with extensive experience in economics, particularly in microeconomics, law and economics, and applied industrial organization. Currently serving as an Advisor at the ICRIER Prosus Centre for Internet and Digital Economy and as a Senior Advisor at EconONE Research, Payal also holds the position of Associate Professor at PGDAV College, Delhi University, since August 1990. Experience includes previous roles as an Advisor and Head of the Economics Division at the Competition Commission of India, where significant contributions were made between 2012 and 2023. Payal Malik's expertise encompasses competition law, digital markets, infrastructure, and regulatory policy, complemented by a strong academic background with degrees from the Delhi School of Economics and the University of Cincinnati.
