Donald Davis

Chief Technologist, Open Source Technology at ID Technologies

Donald Davis has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Donald is currently working as the Chief Technologist for Open Source Technology at ID Technologies since March 2021. Prior to this, from October 2019 to March 2021, they served as the Vice President of Solution Architecture at ORock Technologies, Inc., where they were responsible for technical leadership in Openstack and Openshift cloud services, as well as serving as an Account Executive for US Army Cyber and US Army AI. Additionally, they played a principal technical role in DevSecOps at ORock.

From March 2015 to March 2020, Donald Davis was the Founder of Fort Nebula, an Openstack-based Public Cloud platform designed for high-performance Continuous Integration and Continuous Development work. Notably, the Openstack Foundation was among the tenants that utilized the capabilities of the Fort Nebula Cloud.

Donald Davis also worked at Intel Corporation as the Lead Open Infrastructure Architect from April 2019 to October 2019. Prior to that, they had a series of roles at Red Hat, including Lead Cyber Architect from October 2018 to March 2019, Senior Solutions Architect from March 2017 to October 2018, and Solutions Architect from March 2015 to March 2017.

In 2014, Donald Davis started CloudSpin, where they built, owned, and operated a publicly available cloud on oVirt. Their work with CloudSpin was recognized and reviewed by the oVirt community.

Before entering the technology industry, Donald Davis served in the US Army. From September 2012 to March 2015, they were the Satellite Communications Team Leader, and from November 2008 to September 2012, they worked as a US Army Recruiter. Donald also had a role as the Satellite Communications Terminal Chief from December 2003 to November 2007.

Overall, Donald Davis has a breadth of experience in various roles within the technology industry, with a focus on cloud services, solution architecture, and open-source technology.

Donald Davis attended Regis University from 2012 to 2022, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science. In addition to their degree, Donald has also obtained several certifications from Red Hat. In October 2015, they obtained the RHCSA certification, followed by the RHCVA certification. In August 2016, Donald obtained the RHCE certification.
