Fred Plotkin

Fred Plotkin is an experienced cultural commentator and author, currently serving as the broadcast host for IDAGIO, where live conversations on music and the arts take place each Friday. As a subject matter expert for New York Times Journeys, Fred specializes in opera and has led various travel study tours focused on musical heritage. With a long-standing role as a writer and commentator on opera for WQXR Radio since 2011, Fred has been a prominent voice in the arts community, contributing to WNYC Radio and producing numerous publications, including "Opera 101" and "Classical Music 101." Educational credentials include an MS in Journalism from Columbia University and recognition as a Fulbright Scholar in Italy.
