Matt K.

Matt K. has a strong background in cybersecurity and information security roles. Matt is currently the Head of Cybersecurity Governance at IDB Bank, where they started in June 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Mizuho as an Information Security Officer from April 2021 to June 2022, from April 2020 to April 2021, and from December 2018 to April 2020. Before Mizuho, Matt held the position of Information Security Specialist at BNY Mellon from June 2017 to December 2018. Matt also worked as a Security Assessment Engineer at Blue Canopy Group, LLC from September 2014 to May 2017, where they led and supported NIST security assessments. Matt's career in cybersecurity began at SRA, a CSRA company, where they worked as a Cybersecurity Analyst from April 2008 to September 2014.

Matt K. holds a Master's degree in Applied information technology-Cybersecurity from George Mason University, which they obtained from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Management from George Mason University's Costello College of Business between 2003 and 2008. In addition to their formal education, Matt has earned several certifications including GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) from GIAC Certifications (expected in 2023), Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer™ (CDPSE™) from ISACA (obtained in 2020), CISSP from (ISC)² (obtained in 2018), Certified Ethical Hacker from EC-Council (obtained in September 2014), Cloud Computing Security Knowledge from Cloud Security Alliance (obtained in 2012), CGRC from (ISC)² (obtained in 2011), and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) (obtained in July 2020).
