Marcelo Agapito Fernandes

Marcelo Agapito Fernandes is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in risk management and financial operations, currently serving as the Managing Director and Division Chief of Financial and Operational Risk at IDB Invest since January 2017. With a strong background that includes leadership roles such as Head of Financial and Operational Risk at Todos Em 1 and Executive Director at Banco Santander, Marcelo has demonstrated expertise in capital utilization, financial risk policy development, and credit portfolio management. Prior to these roles, Marcelo held multiple positions at ABN AMRO Bank N.V., culminating in the Senior Vice President of Credit Portfolio Management, and began a career at TVA Sistema de Televisão. Educational qualifications include a Professional Master’s Degree in Business Administration from FGV and a Bachelor's Degree in Production Engineering from USP.
