Sonia Cumpian

Sonia Cumpian is an experienced educator with a diverse background in English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum development and instruction. Currently serving as the Sr. ELA Curriculum Manager at IDEA Public Schools since 2017, Sonia previously held the position of ELA Secondary Curriculum Manager. Additional experience includes roles as Implementation Specialist at San Antonio ISD and English Language Arts and Reading Content Coordinator at Southwest ISD. Sonia started the career as a Literacy Specialist at North East Independent School District and as a Middle School Teacher at Georgetown ISD, where significant contributions were made in integrating technology into the curriculum. Earlier in the career, Sonia taught high school students at Carrizo Springs CISD, emphasizing tailored instruction and student engagement. Sonia earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from St. Mary's University.
