John Burgess

Vice President Global Sales at Ideal Semiconductor Devices

John Burgess has extensive experience in the semiconductor industry spanning over several decades. Their most recent role was as the Vice President Global Sales at iDEAL Semiconductor, starting in January 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Navitas Semiconductor as the Sr. Director Global Accounts from July 2018 to January 2023.

From 2009 to 2018, John served as the Senior Global Business Development Manager at Texas Instruments. In this role, they focused on establishing TI as a leader in high-performance/high-density MOSFET and Power Stage solutions. John also oversaw the Apple account and was responsible for quarterly price negotiations with Apple GSM.

John's experience includes a tenure as the Vice President, Global Sales at Ciclon Semiconductor Device Corp from September 2007 to 2009. During this time, they built a global sales channel and managed a sales team, including establishing an Asia-Pacific Headquarters office.

From 2000 to 2007, John worked at International Rectifier Corporation as the Vice President, Computing Platform Sales. John was responsible for driving the focus product roadmap direction and overseeing the Intel account globally.

At SMSC, John held the position of Vice President, Worldwide Sales from 1991 to 1999. During their tenure, they significantly increased revenues, achieved high market shares in desktop and notebook PCs, and led the company to success.

Earlier in their career, John worked at Microchip Technology, Inc. as a Business Unit Manager for Logic Products Division, and at General Instrument as a Business Unit Manager for Logic Products.

John began their career as a Product Marketing Engineer at Texas Instruments in 1980.

John Burgess completed their education at the University of Rhode Island, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and later pursued an MBA degree. John attended the university from 1973 to 1980.
