Ben Mizen

Ben Mizen, founder of Ideas Alchemy Consulting Limited, is a dynamic facilitator and consultant known for his innovative methods, including LEGO® Serious Play®, which he uses to transform team dynamics, leadership development, and strategic planning. His work is grounded in fostering divergent thinking, empowering individuals and teams to unlock their creative potential, collaborate more effectively, and achieve greater fulfilment in both their personal and professional lives.

In addition to his consultancy, Ben serves as a part-time lecturer in Business and Management at Solent University. He brings extensive leadership and creative experience to the next generation of business leaders, including those enrolled in Degree-Level Apprenticeship programs. His hands-on mentoring approach ensures his guidance is both practical and transformative, equipping students with the skills and confidence they need to succeed in today’s business environment.

Before embarking on his consulting career, Ben worked as a primary school teacher, where he honed his ability to nurture young minds and foster collaborative learning environments. He then dedicated 25 years to church youth work and diocesan advisory roles, playing a pivotal role in building faith-based communities across the UK and abroad. From Gloucestershire to the Netherlands, and most recently as the Youth and Children’s Adviser for the Diocese of Portsmouth for 14 years, Ben has consistently contributed to the development of young people and church leaders. He integrates spiritual insight with innovative strategies to create strong, resilient communities.

Through his work with both faith-based and secular organisations, Ben continues to inspire others to think differently, live fully, and embrace creativity as a path to growth and fulfilment.
