Rebeca Choy

Rebeca Choy is an experienced scientific leader with a strong background in biophysics and extensive expertise in assay development and protein engineering. Currently serving as the Associate Director and Head of Bioassays at IDEAYA Biosciences since May 2022, Rebeca has previously held key positions at Maze Therapeutics, Biodesy, Inc., and Global Blood Therapeutics, where significant contributions included managing pipeline projects, developing high-throughput screening (HTS) assays, and establishing in-house protein production protocols. Rebeca earned a Ph.D. in Biophysics from the University of California, San Francisco, and possesses foundational experience from roles at the University of the Andes in Venezuela. Rebeca's work has also been presented in scientific meetings, reflecting a commitment to advancing drug discovery and research methodologies.
