Thibaut Sartre has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the public sector. Thibaut started their career at the Secrétariat Général de la Défense et de la Sécurité Nationale as a Redacteur au service des affaires juridiques et européennes. Thibaut then joined the Ministère de l'Intérieur, where they served as the Directeur de cabinet in the Préfecture de la région Picardie, Préfecture de la Somme, and later in the Préfecture de la région Bretagne, Préfecture de l'Ille-et-Vilaine. After that, they became the Adjoint au sous-directeur administration générale et finances. Thibaut then moved to the Ministère de l'Économie et des Finances as an Inspecteur des finances. Thibaut subsequently worked at CNRS as the Directeur des finances. Thibaut then returned to the Ministère de l'Intérieur, where they held various positions, including Conseiller budgétaire in the cabinet of the minister and Directeur de l'évaluation de la performance et des affaires financières et immobilières. Thibaut later joined the Préfecture de police de Paris as the Préfet, secrétaire général pour l'administration. In 2019, they became the Managing Director of Qazaqstan Identity & Security. Currently, they are employed at IDEMIA, where they have held the roles of VP Programs Europe, VP Operations Europe, and currently serves as the SVP Head of Business Unit Justice & Public Safety.

Thibaut Sartre attended Sciences Po Toulouse from 1992 to 1995, where they obtained a degree in Administration Publique (IEP). Thibaut then studied at Université Toulouse 1 Capitole from 1993 to 1996, earning a Bachelor's degree in Economics (Licence) and a Master's degree in Public Law (Maîtrise). From 1996 to 1998, they went to Sciences Po for prep'ENA, and later attended ENA - Ecole nationale d'administration from 2000 to 2002, becoming an Ancien Élève.
