Gary Burton-Wilcock

Gary Burton-Wilcock has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Gary began their career in education, working as a Physics and Computer Science Teacher at St George's British International School from September 2013 to August 2018. During this time, they also founded Otmoor Partners Limited, providing support services and consultancy in education, e-learning, business support, and project management.

Prior to their venture into education, Gary worked as a Technical Director at Immersive Education Ltd. from November 2009 to October 2012. Gary managed software development for 3D graphics applications and provided customer support and training.

Before joining Immersive Education Ltd., Gary was a Senior Group Leader at Kraft Foods from 1999 to 2009. Gary initially joined as an electronics engineer and later became a project leader. Gary collaborated with internal marketing teams, development engineers, and external partners to work on vending machine development projects.

Gary's earlier experience includes being a Technical Director at Faronwise Limited, a company involved in manufacturing traffic control equipment, from January 1989 to February 1999. Gary introduced quality systems and achieved ISO9001 certification.

Furthermore, Gary started their career as a Physics teacher at Banbury School in Oxfordshire, UK in September 1982. Gary held various teaching posts, spent a year as a head of year, and contributed to an alternative curriculum project for 14-16 year olds.

In their most recent role, Gary worked as a Software Engineer at Otmoor Partners Ltd. from September 2018 to present. Gary also serves as the Principal Engineer, Sensor Design at IDEX Biometrics since December 2018.

Gary Burton-Wilcock completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in General Science at Durham University from 1977 to 1980. Gary then pursued further education and obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with a focus on Science teaching from the University of Oxford, which they completed from 1980 to 1981.
