Prior to joining IDG Capital, Young Guo was a member of the Soros Fund Management in New York from 1996 to 1999, where he was involved in managing a $3 billion Quantum Industrial Holdings portfolio. In 1996, Young also worked for Salomon Brothers in New York, where he participated in securities trading. In addition, he worked for W.R. Grace & Co. in Maryland from 1990 to 1995, where he led product development and was granted five U.S. patents. Young holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, an MBA from Columbia Business School, and a bachelor's degree in Applied Chemistry from Shanghai Jiaotong University.
