Alberto Gimona

Alberto Gimona is an experienced leader in global clinical development with a career spanning several prominent pharmaceutical companies. Currently serving as the Head of Global Clinical Development and Head of Therapeutic Areas Units at Idorsia Pharmaceuticals Ltd since February 2019, Alberto has previously held key positions at Actelion, where responsibilities included overseeing Global Clinical Development and Global Clinical Sciences from October 2011 to February 2019. Alberto’s tenure at Novartis Pharma AG as Senior Global Medical Director from October 2008 to October 2011, and roles at Merck Serono International S.A. and Novartis further highlight extensive expertise in clinical sciences and drug development. Alberto holds an MD in Medicine from Università di Pisa and has supplemented education with programs from INSEAD.
