Abbas Jamalipour, PhD, FIEEE, FIEICE, FIEA has a diverse work experience. Abbas started at the University of Sydney in 1998, where they served as a Professor of Ubiquitous Mobile Networking, Founding Director of the Wireless Networking Group (WiNG) Lab, and a PhD Supervisor. In 2014, they joined the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, where they held various roles, including Junior Past President, Editor In Chief of IEEE Trans on Vehicular Technology, Elected Board of Governors Member, President, Chair of IEEE VTS NSW Chapter, Executive Vice President, and Fellow Evaluation Committee Chair. Since 2018, they have also been involved with the IEEE Communications Society, serving as the Chair of the IEEE High Performance Switching and Routing Conference Steering Committee and the GITC Vice Chair. Additionally, from 2012 to 2013, they were the Vice President - Conferences for the IEEE Communications Society, and from 2004 to 2011, they held multiple roles within the society, including Chair of the Communications Switching & Routing Technical Committee, Chair of the Chapters Coordinating Committee in the Asia Pacific Board, and Chair of the Satellite & Space Communications Technical Committee.

Abbas Jamalipour, PhD, FIEEE, FIEICE, FIEA obtained a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education from the University of Sydney in 2000-2001. Prior to that, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Telecommunications Engineering from Nagoya University, where they studied from 1992 to 1996.
