Erdal Kayacan is a Full Professor at Paderborn University, with a diverse academic background and extensive editorial experience in the field of robotics and automation. Since April 2023, Kayacan has held the professorship while simultaneously serving as an Associate Editor for IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters and for IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, as well as a Technical Editor for IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, all since January 2017. Prior to this role, Kayacan was an Associate Professor at Aarhus University from April 2018 to March 2023 and an Assistant Professor at Nanyang Technological University from March 2014 to April 2018. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Boğaziçi University, a Master’s Degree in Systems and Control Engineering from the same institution, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University.
