Jason Gu has extensive experience within the IEEE organization, holding several leadership positions including IEEE Canada President and IEEE Canada Past President from January 2022 to December 2023, and serving as IEEE Canada President Elect from January 2018 to December 2019. Jason currently serves on the IEEE Award Committee since January 2025. In addition to his IEEE roles, Jason has been a Professor at Dalhousie University since September 2000. Jason's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China, a Master's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and a PhD in Robotics and Rehabilitation from the University of Alberta, where studies are ongoing.
