Lauren Mecum-Smith serves as the Senior Manager of Strategic Programs for the IEEE Photonics Society, where responsibilities include streamlining workflows, integrating marketing and communications strategies, and enhancing membership value through cross-collaborative content strategies. With previous roles in community outreach and membership development within the same organization, Lauren has built a strong foundation in volunteer management and member retention initiatives. Prior experience includes strategic program assistance at AARP, project coordination, and healthcare marketing at various organizations, culminating in an extensive background in program management and outreach. Lauren holds a B.A. in Writing Arts with a minor in Communication Studies from Rowan University.
