Nitin Goel

Nitin Goel currently serves as a Principal Network Planner for Cloud/AI Infrastructure at Microsoft, focusing on long-term infrastructure master planning for global cloud and AI workloads. With extensive experience spanning over two decades, Nitin has held significant roles including Backbone Network Planner and Optical Network Architect at Facebook, where strategic and tactical planning for the global network was a key responsibility. Other notable positions include Staff Engineer at Infinera, Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar, and Manager of Product & Development Engineering at Tyco Electronics. Nitin's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Fiber Optics from Virginia Tech, an M.Tech in Optoelectronics and Optical Communication from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and an M.Sc. in Engineering Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Nitin is also a Senior Member of both OSA and IEEE.
