Shaolin Liao

Shaolin (Alan) Liao is an accomplished researcher and educator specializing in AI for Electromagnetics and Photonics Science. They obtained a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and a B.S. from Tsinghua University. Shaolin served as a Research Fellow at The City University of New York and later held a postdoctoral appointment at Argonne National Laboratory, where they secured three patents in electromagnetics. Currently, they are a Research Professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology, a Professor at Sun Yat-sen University, and a Visiting Scholar at Purdue University, while also serving as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Internet of Things Journal. Shaolin has contributed significantly to the field with over 40 published papers and has held various leadership roles within IEEE.
