Umar Iqbal, Ph.D., P. Eng., serves as an Associate Professor and Founding Faculty of the College of Engineering at Illinois State University since August 2024. With extensive experience in academia, Iqbal previously held positions such as Associate Teaching Professor and Assistant Clinical Professor at Mississippi State University, along with a Clinical Professor role at the University of Ottawa. Iqbal's professional affiliations include membership in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta, where Iqbal holds the title of Professional Engineer, and professional memberships with The Institute of Navigation and IEEE. Notably, Iqbal acted as Faculty Advisor for the MSU EcoCAR EV Challenge Team from October 2022 to September 2024.
