Riaz Ahmad has extensive experience in the transportation and information technology fields. Riaz started their career in 1989 as a Software Engineer at Technosoft, where they developed routines and functions based on the ACI-318-89 code for an integrated structural analysis, design, and drafting package. In 1990, they worked as a Junior Engineer at Pakistan Engineering Associates Limited, where they worked on the analysis and design of highway bridges, preparation of design reports, cost estimates, and contract documents for highway projects. In 1991, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they were involved in system administration for the APOLLO network. In 1992, they worked as the Division Manager for Software Services at ERES Consultants, Inc. (now Applied Research Associates Inc.), where they managed all aspects of software product development, including design, implementation, testing, and user documentation. In 1996, they worked as the Project Manager for the AASHTOWare Joint Software Development Program at AASHTO, where they worked on the administration and life-cycle management of the AASHTO data and design system products. In 1999, they started iENGINEERING as a global information technology company, where they served as the President and CEO. As the President and CEO of iENGINEERING, Riaz has led a number of national and international projects for government, non-profit, and private-sector organizations in the transportation and information technology achieving remarkable success for iENGINEERING. Riaz has implemented ISO 9001, ISO 20000, ISO 27001, and CMMI Level 5 certifications for iENGINEERING to improve the project delivery and quality assurance processes of the company. Riaz is also the architect of the AI-based transportation asset and digital rights management solutions offered by iENGINEERING. In 2010, they started iWrapper and in 2022, they started Transconomy.
Riaz Ahmad received their Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore in 1989. Riaz then went on to earn their Masters in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1991. Riaz also holds a certification in Software Acquisition Capability Maturity Model from the Software Engineering Institute | Carnegie Mellon University.
