Cesar Alegre

Cesar Alegre has extensive experience in program development and educational leadership in the field of study abroad programs, currently serving as AVP for Program Development, Dean for IES Spain, and Center Director at IES Abroad since June 2007. Alegre has also held the position of Director and Dean of Spanish at the IES Abroad Barcelona Center, focusing on course content and faculty coordination. Prior experience includes a role as Language Program Coordinator at Amherst College, where Alegre taught a variety of Spanish courses and established exchange programs with universities in Spain. Academically, Alegre holds a Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, a Master’s degree in Spanish from Auburn University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the same institution.
