Simon W. has extensive work experience in the field of data science and artificial intelligence. Simon currently holds the role of Senior Principal AI Scientist at Ieso, starting in January 2024. Prior to this, they were a Principal AI Scientist at the same company since March 2022. Simon served as the Head of Data Science at Beauty Labs from June 2021 to March 2022. Simon has also held positions at Audio Analytic, where they worked as a Staff Data Scientist from October 2020 to June 2021, and as a Product Owner from September 2019 to June 2021. Simon worked at Recordsure as the Head Of Research from August 2017 to September 2019, and as the Head of Data Science from June 2016 to September 2019. Simon's earlier work experience includes roles as a Senior Data Scientist, Data Scientist, and Lead Data Scientist at Jagex from July 2013 to June 2016, and as a Data Analyst at Featurespace from August 2011 to June 2012. Simon also worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds from 2010 to 2011, and at the University of Sheffield from 2008 to 2010.

Simon W. earned a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Southampton from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, they completed an MSc with Distinction in Natural Computation at the University of Birmingham from 2004 to 2005. Simon also holds a BSc in Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence from the University of Birmingham, which they obtained from 2001 to 2004. In addition to their formal education, Simon has obtained various certifications, including a DeepLearning.AI TensorFlow Developer certification from Coursera in 2021, and certifications in Data Engineering and Machine Learning from Coursera and Google Cloud Platform in 2019. Simon also holds certifications in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship from HEC Paris in 2018, and has completed courses in Scalable Machine Learning and Big Data with Apache Spark from edX in 2015, as well as training in Mining Massive Datasets from Coursera in 2013.
