Kefas Mugittu

Kefas Mugittu is a seasoned researcher and educator with extensive experience in the health sector. Currently serving as Principal Scientist and TES Technical Advisor at Ifakara Health Institute since August 2022, Mugittu previously held the role of Senior Lecturer at Kampala International University in Tanzania from February 2018 to April 2020. Prior to that, Mugittu was the Director and Principal Consultant at Muvek Development Solutions Ltd from April 2013 to December 2017 and a Principal Research Scientist at Ifakara Health Institute from July 2006 to April 2013. Early career contributions include a Senior Research Scientist position at Ifakara Health Institute from July 1999 to May 2006. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Antimalarial Drug Resistance from the University of Basel, conferred in 2006, alongside a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) and a Master of Veterinary Medicine (MVM) in Molecular Epidemiology from Sokoine University of Agriculture, both obtained in 1995.
