Philippe Craneguy

Philippe CRANEGUY serves as the Head of the Technological R&D Unit at IFREMER since January 2020, focusing on technological advances for ocean exploration and environmental monitoring. Prior to this role, Philippe held positions including Chief Executive Officer at Guinard Energies, where a patented ducted turbine technology for hydrokinetic power was developed, and General Manager at Actimar, overseeing international development and research since 2014. Philippe's previous experience also includes roles at ACRI-ST as Head of the Oceanography Department, and as an Oceanographer at Actimar and the Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center. Philippe holds a PhD in Oceanography from Université de Bretagne Occidentale and has a background in engineering from IPSA.
