Dirk Bergrath

Dirk Bergrath is the current Head of the EU Liaison Office of IG Metall and a Member of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), where they advocate for a strong and social Europe while focusing on the green and digital transformation of European industry. With over a decade of experience in Brussels and a background as a Counselor at the Permanent Representation of Germany to the European Union, they have also served as a rapporteur on industrial policy within the EESC. Dirk holds a degree from RWTH Aachen University, where they were a research associate before embarking on their influential career in European policy.
