Roberto Diego Ortuso

Roberto Diego Ortuso, PhD, currently serves as a Patent Examiner at the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property since April 2022. Prior to this role, Roberto was a Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at the Adolphe Merkle Institute, where responsibilities included advanced nanomechanical studies, automation of data acquisition and analysis, conducting root-cause investigations in laboratory setups, and tutoring graduate students. Roberto's experience also encompasses a Postdoctoral Researcher position at the University of Geneva, where assistance was provided during the transition of PhD research project responsibilities. As a PhD student at the University of Geneva, Roberto developed a novel class of mechano-sensor and designed experimental setups. Additional positions include IT Project Engineer at Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH and a trainee role analyzing hydrodynamic effects on surgical techniques at Ospedale Di Carmagnola. Academic credentials include a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Geneva and Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Bioengineering from Politecnico di Torino.
