Vinod Scaria is a Principal Scientist at the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (IGIB) since December 2009, focusing on genomic data and its role in understanding genome organization, function, and disease-related genetic variations. Vinod has contributed to the GUaRDIAN collaborative research program on rare genetic disorders and co-founded the OPTIMA initiative, aimed at advancing Precision Medicine in India. With an extensive academic background, Vinod served as an Adjunct Professor at IIIT-Delhi and held an Assistant Professor position at the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research, specializing in long non-coding RNAs. Previously, as an Investigator with Open Source Drug Discovery, significant contributions were made in developing collaborative platforms for genome annotation. Vinod holds a PhD in Biotechnology/Genome Informatics from Savitribai Phule Pune University and an MBBS from the University of Calicut.
