Aaron Alfred has over 10 years of experience in the field of product design. Aaron began their career in 2009 at BNOTIONS as a UX/UI Designer, where they led the design of several client websites and Facebook apps, mentored students regarding product design methods, and designed marketing collateral. In 2011, they joined Blend360 Digital Agency Toronto as a UX/UI Designer, where they led the design of several client projects and implemented UX practices into the company's design process. In 2012, they joined IBM as a Product Designer and Polar Mobile as a Product Designer, where they designed mobile web apps for The Toronto Star, Canadian Living, TalkSport, and more. Aaron also refined their work by writing CSS, HTML, and CoffeeScript. In 2013, they joined Wattpad as a Product Designer, where they designed products for 45M+ Wattpad users, designed for the Wattpad web platform (mobile and desktop), and redesigned the Wattpad newsfeed. In 2015, they joined Meta Inc. (acquired by Chan Zuckerberg Initiative) as a Product Designer, where they provided product design and design for the Meta Inc. brand. In 2016, they joined Kira Talent as a Product Designer, where they led the UX design of application prep and management software, implemented the first design system at Kira Talent, and helped higher education admission teams review applicants fairly. In 2019, they joined Roadmunk as a Sr. Product Designer, where they led the UX design for RM's enterprise feedback management platform and helped organizations align to a customer-driven roadmap. Also in 2019, they joined Flipp as a Sr. Product Designer, where they led the UX design of the Growth Hacking team for the consumer app, practiced UX design end-to-end (strategy, planning, design), increased adoption through an improved onboarding experience, and helped customers save time and money weekly with digital ads on Flipp. Finally, in 2020 they joined Igloo Software as a Lead UX Designer, where they are currently leading the UX design of Igloos' enterprise platform, championing all things UX for the company and its customers, and supporting the hiring process of Senior UX Designers.

Aaron Alfred's education history includes a Certificate from George Brown College in Art & Design Foundation from 2004-2005, Graphic Design from Humber College from 2007-2008, Web Design & Development from Yorkville Media Centre from 2010-2013, Rapid Prototyping with HTML, CSS and JavaScript from General Assembly Canada since 2014, and a Design Sprint workshop from TWG + Fresh Tilled Soil in 2016.
