Thijs van der Heide has held various roles throughout their career. Thijs is currently the Chief Financial Officer at IGM Resins since January 2022. Before that, they worked as the CFO at Avansya, a joint venture between Cargill and DSM, from June 2019 to November 2021. At Avansya, they played a key role in introducing their first commercial product and driving rapid growth.

Prior to their role at Avansya, Thijs had a long tenure at DSM. Thijs served as the Director of Special Finance Projects at DSM Food Specialties from June 2019 to November 2021, where they managed M&A projects and led the acquisition of Royal CSK. Thijs also worked as a Project Director, Manager of Investor Relations, and Associate Director of Mergers & Acquisitions at DSM, taking part in executing transactions and assisting in strategy development.

Thijs also has experience outside of DSM, having worked as a Senior Business Banker at Van Lanschot Bankiers from May 2010 to August 2011, and as an M&A Associate and Analyst at Rabo Securities from August 2006 to April 2010.

Thijs van der Heide's education history includes a variety of academic achievements. From 1991 to 1997, they attended Vossius Gymnasium and completed their secondary education. Thijs then proceeded to the University of Amsterdam from 1997 to 2004, where they pursued a Master's degree in Economics. Following this, from 2001 to 2006, Thijs enrolled again at the University of Amsterdam and attained another Master's degree, this time in Law. In 2012, they briefly attended INSEAD, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned.
