Benjamin Tjoa has a diverse work experience in the biotechnology and biomedical industry. Benjamin is currently serving as the Chief Scientific Officer at IGNYTE BIO Inc since January 2022. Benjamin previously held the position of Vice President, Research and Technology at Cellero from September 2019 to September 2021, where they contributed to the merger and integration of Cellero into Hemacare, a Charles River Company. Before that, they worked as the Chief Scientist at Astarte Biologics, Inc. from January 2013 to September 2019, overseeing product development and quality testing of immune cell products for research. Benjamin also had experience as a Principal at XPLORA from 2013 to 2015 and as the Lead Scientist at Bostwick Laboratories from 2007 to 2009. Benjamin served as the VP R&D at Sangretech Biomedical, LLC from 2004 to 2007 and as a Senior Scientist at Northwest Biotherapeutics from 1996 to 2002, where they conducted research in immunology and cell biology. Benjamin has significant expertise in dendritic cell biology, cancer vaccine studies, and assay development, with awarded patents in the field of prostate cancer immunotherapy.

Benjamin Tjoa pursued their education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they completed their Ph.D. in Biochemistry/Immunology. Benjamin joined the university in 1987 and successfully graduated in 1993.
