Akihiro Sato

Akihiro Sato serves as the Director for Quantum and Materials at the Cabinet Office, Government of Japan, since April 2024. With extensive experience in the field, Akihiro has been with IHI Corporation since June 2013, holding various roles including Manager in the Collaboration & Marketing Group and General Manager of the Administration Department within Corporate R&D. Prior to that, Akihiro served as Vice President of Technology at IHI INC. and held multiple research and engineering positions at IHI Corporation and the National Institute for Materials Science. Akihiro holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from Kyoto University and completed an Entrepreneurship Development Program at MIT Sloan School of Management, along with Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Materials Sciences and Metallurgical Engineering, respectively, from Kyoto University.
