Robert Griffin

Senior Research Scientist

Robert Griffin is a Senior Research Scientist at IHMC, where management of the robotics group focuses on legged systems and includes the design of humanoid robots and exoskeletons. Additionally, Robert holds the position of Director of Research Professor at the University of West Florida and has served as a Technical Advisor at Boardwalk Robotics. Experience includes a role as a Graduate Research Assistant at TREC, leading software and controls for the National Science Foundation's Orthotic Lowerbody Locomotion Exoskeleton project, and previous positions at Virginia Tech, Flowserve, and B&W Y-12 LLC. Robert Griffin obtained a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Summa Cum Laude, from Tennessee Technological University. Current research interests involve humanoid robot trajectory generation and the development of software architecture for robotic systems.
