Rachel Newman Silk has a diverse work experience in the healthcare field. Rachel started their career in 1999 as a Program Officer for HIV/AIDS at FHI 360, where they worked until 2002. From 2004 to 2005, they served as a Clinical Nurse II in the Emergency Department at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Rachel then worked as a Clinic Nurse at Bread for the City from 2005 to 2007, providing healthcare services to patients. Rachel furthered their career as a Public Health Nurse, focusing on communicable diseases, at the Arlington County Health Department from 2007 to 2008. During this time, they also worked as an After Hours Nurse at Capital Caring. In 2008, Rachel transitioned to SAIC-Frederick as a Clinical Research Nurse, before becoming a Nurse Administrator at Leidos Biomedical Research (formerly SAIC-Frederick) in 2009, where they worked until 2014.
