Bob Bashaw

Walter R. Bashaw II joined II-VI in 2018 and has been President of the company since July 2019. Mr. Bashaw previously served as Vice President of Strategy. In this role, he was primarily responsible for the company’s M&A and integration work. Prior to joining II-VI, Mr. Bashaw was a senior partner at the law firm of Sherrard, German & Kelly in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where his areas of expertise were corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and technology planning. Mr. Bashaw has broad emerging-company experience and regularly works on complex corporate transactions with manufacturing, e-commerce, real estate, medical service providers, and high-tech companies. He was admitted to the Pennsylvania bar in 1993 and the Maryland bar in 2004. Mr. Bashaw holds a J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, from which he graduated cum laude and at which he was the editor-in-chief of the University of Pittsburgh Journal of Law and Commerce. He holds a B.S. in Logistics from the Pennsylvania State University.
