Luis Diego Monge S. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Luis Diego currently serves as the Chief Technology Evangelist at the Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura (IICA) since 2021. Prior to this, they co-founded Astra Codex SRL in 2019, where they provided consulting services in space systems engineering and geospatial data analysis.
From 2014 to present, Luis worked as an independent consultant and patent examiner for the Costa Rica Patent Authority. In this role, they provided consulting services in patent technical analysis, specializing in electric and mechanical engineering, medical devices, and intellectual property law.
In 2013, Luis was a board member and served as the president of the Central American Society for Aeronautics and Space (ACAE) until 2019. During this time, they played a key role in shaping the organization's agenda and initiatives.
Luis co-founded DIT Space in 2016, a company that provided strategic information for decision making using geospatial technology. Luis Diego also worked as a professor and researcher at Tecnológico de Costa Rica from 2016 to 2017.
Prior to their entrepreneurial ventures, Luis gained industry experience at prominent companies. Luis Diego worked as a Facilities Quality Engineer at Boston Scientific from 2012 to 2016, ensuring quality standards were met in facility operations. Luis Diego also served as a Critical Facilities Manager at CBRE, overseeing critical facilities support for Bank of America's campus.
Earlier in their career, Luis held positions at Schneider Electric as a Quality Engineer from 2007 to 2009 and at Intel Corporation as a Test Burn-In Module Engineer from 2006 to 2007. In these roles, they focused on quality control, equipment maintenance, and project management.

Luis Diego Monge S. has a diverse educational background. Luis Diego obtained a Master's degree in Technology Innovation with a focus on Science Innovation and Technology from the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica, which they attended from 2015 to 2017. In the same year, from 2015 to 2018, they pursued an Associate's degree in Film/Cinema/Video Studies at ULACIT. Before that, in 2014, Luis Diego completed a Posgrado en Gestion de la Innovacion orientada al Mercado (Postgraduate Program in Market-oriented Innovation Management) from UTN Universitat Leipzig.
Prior to their postgraduate studies, Luis Diego attended Aerotica Escuela de Aviacion from 2010 to 2012, where they obtained a degree in Aviation/Airway Management and Operations, specifically focused on becoming a pilot. Finally, from 1998 to 2005, they studied Industrial Maintenance Engineering at the Instituto Tecnologico de Costa Rica, specializing in Electromechanical Technology/Electromechanical Engineering Technology.
Additionally, Luis Diego has obtained several certifications to enhance their skillset. Luis Diego completed the International Space Training program offered by KARI in May 2016. In June 2015, they obtained a certification in Patents Management and Evaluation from the Government of Spain, specifically the Foundation CEDDET. Furthermore, in December 2014, they completed training in Quality Systems for Medical Devices, specifically FDA's QSR and ISO 13485, provided by Oriel STAT A MATRIX.
