Ruth Cobban is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Senior Corporate Communications Manager for both iiCON: Infection Innovation Consortium and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine since April 2021. Previously, Ruth held roles at Influential Agency as Account Director and Senior Account Manager from August 2014 to April 2021, providing B2B PR services to diverse sectors including property and technology. Additional experience includes membership on the Board of Trustees at Unity Theatre in Liverpool and senior roles at Paver Smith & Co, as well as early reporting positions with the Worcester Standard, Liverpool Echo, and The Independent. Ruth holds a First Class BA Hons in Journalism from Liverpool John Moores University, obtained in 2010.

Founded with government funding provided through UK Research and Innovation’s flagship Strength in Places Fund, it brings together industry, academia, and the NHS in a concerted effort with a clear aim: to combat the growing global threat posed by infectious diseases and save lives through collaborative innovation.
