Beerud Sheth is a seasoned entrepreneur and technology leader, currently serving as a Member of the Board of Directors at the IIT Bombay Heritage Foundation since January 2023. As Co-founder and CEO of Gupshup, established in 2005, Beerud Sheth has developed a smart messaging platform that facilitates communication for developers through a unified API for SMS and IP messaging channels. Previously, Beerud Sheth founded Elance, now known as Upwork, where significant contributions included shaping product strategies and business development from 1998 to 2005. Earlier career experiences include roles as AVP at Merrill Lynch, focusing on financial modeling for mortgage-backed securities, and at Citibank Securities Corp., modeling fixed-income bonds. Beerud Sheth holds an SM in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.Tech. in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
