Biplab Banerjee

Biplab Banerjee is an accomplished academic with extensive experience in visual computing and machine learning. Biplab served as an Associate Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay from June 2018 to April 2022, contributing to the Centre of Machine Intelligence & Data Science as a core associated faculty member. Prior to this role, Biplab was an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee from October 2016 to June 2018. Biplab's research career includes postdoctoral positions at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, focusing on activity recognition from videos, and at Greyc, where the work centered on semantic image segmentation under weak supervision. Additionally, Biplab has experience as a research scholar at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where the focus was on the application of graph theory for land-cover classification and segmentation of satellite images.
