Sr. Project Engineer

Raman Verma is an accomplished aerospace engineer with extensive experience in drone design and development, particularly at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where Raman holds the position of Sr. Project Engineer since January 2018. Raman's work includes contributions to the Maharashtra Drone Mission, the development of a hand-launched inflatable wing UAV for DRDO, and ongoing research in UAV wingspan morphing utilizing inflatable structures, with a patent pending for the innovative fabrication methodology. Prior roles include test pilot for a heavy-lift multirotor designed for organ transport and project work on tethered aerostats for telecommunications in disaster scenarios. Additionally, Raman has facilitated workshops in longboarding and nano drone assembly for students and earned a Master of Technology in Aerospace Structures from IIT Bombay. An earlier degree in Mechanical Engineering was completed at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, complemented by foundational education at Kendriya Vidyalaya.
